A brief moment of soft shadows and a delicate light that colours the land in subtle tones and changes the mood in phenomenal ways. This work is de as a part of the Dark Skies celebration.

This artwork is created in soft pastels on 300 g cotton paper with 4 deckle edges. It has a delicate surface and needs the protection of glass.

I'm drawn to untouched nature, and like to use abstract landscapes to express moods and emotions, it is not site specific landscapes but more the essence of an experience expressed via a landscape. I live at the West coast of Norway and this closeness to the sea and fjords are often present in my artworks.

I prefer to work in pastels. Working with colored dust reminds me that the traces left behind should be soft and impermanent, something we seem to completely forget these days. We are here together for a little while, just visitors. The traces we leave behind must be of a different nature than what destroys the nature around us. I like to keep this quote from the Anglican Church's Liturgical Handbook in mind "Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust" It's a humble reminder that gives me a perspective and presence of mind I appreciate.
